Easter

Easter Bunnies. Easter eggs. … And what do they have to do with Jesus?

What could be uttered at a time as this! Lots of „how bad this world is“ sentences in any case. But I am tired of it!

For me it is not Easter. – For me it is RESURRECTION WEEKEND!

I rejoice in the fact that about 1,986 years ago a certain Jesus of Nazareth had been nailed to the cross by the Romans. Betrayed by one of his closest confidants. Hated by the intellectual elite of his people.

Why I am happy? – I do not rejoice in the agony before and during the crucifixion, which Jesus had to go through. I rejoice in the fact that he did not remain in the grave chamber, into which they had seized him. He has risen from the dead! He is still alive.

Because of this I am happy every day. Whether it is Easter, or not. Even in my everyday life, it is noticeable. Anyone who knows me more closely, knows that I have more than enough reasons to be grumpy. But I do not care. Jesus lives. Also in me. When in earlier times were mourning and depression, today’s joy and .

I can not prove it. At least not according to scientific standards. I do not have to. It finally is called FAITH, not proof. [The biblical meaning of the word faith is something much stronger than scientific proof (Hebrews, chapter 11).]

What do I do with Easter eggs, and Easter bunnies from the supermarket? – Eat up. It is the only useful, what you can do with the stuff.

Jesus did not breed bunnies; he did not train them for hiding eggs.

Jesus went to the cross for you and me. He opened for us the way to God the Father and to eternal life! – Wohoooo!
